Biography:
Born in Venice, Jacopo de’ Barbari’s early career is vague. However, his first documented work was a massive woodcut depicting the view of his home city, a piece that took him three years to finish. Barbari worked mostly in Germany and the Netherlands, producing engravings for royal clients among others.
